Coronary Heart Disease Treatment Limerick
Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in Ireland accounting for about 10,000 deaths each year. We encourage all our adult patients to have regular cardiovascular risk assessments including blood pressure and cholesterol checks.
At Ennis Road Medical Centre we have four 24 hour blood pressure monitors ensuring easy access to the most accurate way of determining whether you have high blood pressure and providing invaluable assistance to us in the management of your condition.
We can also perform ECGs and encourage consideration of more specialised cardiovascular screening such as stress tests and coronary artery CTs to those in at risk categories (overweight, family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, smoking etc). The Irish Heart foundation has an excellent website with further information here http://www.irishheart.ie/iopen24/heart-health-information-t-7.html
