Dr Gerard O'Connell
Dr Gerard O'Connell founded what is now Ennis Road Medical Centre in 1979. A graduate of UCC in 1974, he has over 40 years experience as a GP in Limerick. Dr O'Connell holds postgraduate diplomas in Obstetrics, Child Health and Aviation Medicine and was a founding member of the Irish Faculty of Occupational Medicine. He continues to enjoy all aspects of General Practice and has a special interest in pilot medicals and men's health. An avid rower in his youth, he now prefers the bank of the river and is a passionate salmon fisherman.
Dr Simon O'Connell
A Limerick native, Dr Simon O'Connell graduated from UCD in 2002. He subsequently worked as a non consultant hospital doctor in Limerick,Dublin and Brisbane, completing his specialist training in General Practice in 2007. He then worked for a number of years as a GP in Limerick before spending almost six years living and working as a General Practitioner in Australia.
Whilst in Australia, Simon completed a certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine in the University of Queensland, held the position of Senior Clinical lecturer in the University of Western Australia and was a fellowship examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practice. He is currently a tutor for the University of Limerick medical school.
A member of the Irish College of General Practice and a fellow of the Royal Australian College, Simon also has a postgraduate diploma in Child Health. He is an accredited examiner for the Irish Underwater Council and the UK Oil and Gas industry. He has successfully completed a diploma course in Occupational Medicine at the University of Manchester and the Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, RCSI. and enjoys all aspects of General Practice including child, student and men's health, travel medicine and preventative medicine including pre-employment medicals and occupational medicine. When not working as a GP in Limerick, he enjoys most sports including tennis, golf, surfing and following Munster rugby.
Dr Kieran Daly
Kieran is a Limerick native, hailing from Herbertstown in Co. Limerick. He graduated from University College Cork in 2001 before working as a non consultant hospital doctor in Waterford and Cork and completed his specialist training in General Practice in 2008. Kieran worked for the past ten years in Charleville, Co. Cork before joing Ennis Road Medical Centre. He is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice especially Child and Adolescent health and Care of the Elderly.
Kieran enjoys all sports, is a lifelong supporter of Limerick GAA and regularly enjoys Parkrun in the University of Limerick.
Dr. Elaine Kolshus (nee Donnelly)
We are delighted that Dr. Kolshus commenced practice with us in September 2018. Dr Kolshus graduated with 2:1 honours from Trinity College Dublin in 2005. Dr Kolshus successfully completed Specialist Training in General Practice and was awarded the MICGP in 2014, having previously gained extensive experience and passed professional examinations in Emergency Medicine and holds a postgraduate Diploma in Child Health. She is available for consultation on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment. Dr. Kolshus is also a clinical tutor in University of Limerick Medical School. Dr Kolshus is also an experienced professional singer and has been a member of the internationally reknowned Irish choral group Anuna since 2003!
Dr.Eoghan Hearne is our registrar for 2018/2019 and will be with us until July 2019.
